About

This site is maintained by a group of enthusiasts who love the capability of OpenLabyrinth for virtual scenarios.

What is a virtual scenario? – basically a web-based interactive case or problem that you can solve or explore. Originally, these were called virtual patients but we have moved far beyond this original design. Check out our Virtual Patient about Virtual Patients example case that does relate to that older use. For more examples, use the Case Examples menu.

The strategic direction and development oversight for OpenLabyrinth is provided by the OpenLabyrinth Development Consortium, led by the University of Calgary.

Support for the development of OpenLabyrinth has been provided by the following:

  • Distributed Learning & Rural Initiatives, Alberta
  • Alberta Physician Learning Program
  • Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada
  • Norlien Foundation
  • Alberta International Medical Graduate Program
  • O’Brien Institute of Public Health
  • McMaster University
  • Alberta Children’s Hospital
  • College of Family Physicians of Canada
  • University of Southampton
  • University of Alberta
  • College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta
  • Alberta Rural Physician Action Plan

We welcome others to contribute to this site and knowledge around virtual scenarios generally.

Thanks for that. We’ll update the old links within that page. Or did you have trouble getting to the Case Examples page itself. It should not be locked or anything.
